ABOUT
Luis Ignacio Andrade is a student of Creative Writing at the University of Louisville, crafting his first book, He Played With Dolls, a collection of essays chronicling his life as a LatinX gay male growing up in a family dominated by machismo.
He Played With Dolls recounts his experience of maintaining self-acceptance from unlikely people and places and the delusional confidence one could only get from a trusty pair of platform shoes.

Luis Ignacio's work has been featured in publications such as Lincoln Land Review Journal and Queer Kentucky. He has also had the opportunity to open for David Sedaris in Folsom, California and Carmel, Indiana, where he read his own essay titled "Hail Mary."
